Client
Steelcase is the world’s largest office furniture manufacturer, with 11,300 employees in 80+ countries and $3.2B in revenue. For over a century, it has designed and manufactured an expansive range of furnishings and solutions for the many ways people work in the many places where work happens: offices, homes and learning and health environments.
Challenge
Steelcase wanted to improve its product information management system to provide better support for its extensive catalogue of finishes, materials and regional data. Its previous system made tasks such as linking digital assets and managing supplier data time-consuming and difficult to scale up. Teams often had to rely on manual updates across multiple regions, which increased complexity.
In order to streamline operations, the company aimed to implement a modern PIM solution that was aligned with the best practices of product experience management (PXM). A key priority was to secure business user adoption to ensure long-term success. This shift will enable Steelcase to reduce time-to-market, enhance data consistency, deliver more connected customer experiences and drive meaningful business growth.
Approach
As Akeneo’s top North American partner, Datmos collaborated closely with the client’s Product Information Management (PIM) team to successfully implement Akeneo Product Cloud. The solution was designed to centralize product data, automate asset management, and streamline supplier collaboration with the Supplier Data Manager (SDM) tool. Datmos also configured workflows to accelerate product enrichment and reduce time-to-market for new releases. By setting clear KPIs and ensuring team adoption, we helped establish a scalable foundation for product experience management (PXM) based on data accuracy, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
